I aim to understand and find resolution to people’s unique difficulties in ways that involve, and make sense to, the individuals concerned.
In deciding with you on a therapeutic approach I am therefore guided by what seems most likely to suit you and your difficulties, rather than taking a ‘one size fits all’ stance.
My training has covered a range of therapeutic models, in particular Cognitive-behavioural, Psychodynamic and Humanistic approaches. I have undertaken additional trainings to include Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy and approaches rooted in mindfulness and self-compassion.
Underlying my work within these approaches is a commitment to the therapeutic relationship itself as an essential and active ingredient for successful therapy.
